Throughout thousands of years, millions of people all around the world are being born into families who are practicing a religion. In Canada as well as other major countries, people are fortunate to be able to practice any religion they desire. However, the two major religions that are practiced in Canada are Judaism and Christianity. This is also very relevant in many other nations of the world. These two religions have been two of the major religions that have circulated this world for centuries. Although Judaism and Christianity are two very different religions there are more that these religions have in common than one would think. Both Christianity and Judaism originate from the same sprout and have many of the same beliefs, morals and traditions. In order for anyone to be a follower of Christianity they must have an understanding of Judaism. Judaism is believed to be the parent of Christianity paving its way in becoming the major religion that it is today.
Christianity has connections with many old religions in the world and a Christian should embrace all these religions and try to learn connections between them. There are three major religions that have been the formal layout to every religion that has followed in their footsteps. These three religions have certain beliefs that coincide with each other. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all three believe that God created both Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve later had two sons, Cain and Abel who shortly after had Seth and other sons and daughters. Down the line came Abraham, who was the son of Terah. Abraham was born in the Mesopotamian city and was believed to live during the end of the nineteenth or beginning of the eighteenth century B.C.E. (http://www.ucg.org/booklet/middle-east-bible-prophecy/sons-abraham/) These three religions all root back to that same individual, Abraham. Abraham's first son was born with an Egyptian woman called Hagar. Their son was named Ishmael which means "God hears". Fourteen years after the birth of his first son Abraham was blessed with another son. Abraham's wife, Sarah gave birth to Isaac, which means "laughter". Isaac later on fathered his son Jacob also named Israel, who was the father of the Israelites. Sarah was not very fond of the Egyptian woman who had mothered Abraham's first son Ishmael. The two women encountered each other at the feast where Isaac was weaned. Sarah exclaimed to Abraham to "cast out this bondwoman and her son, for this son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, namely with Isaac". (Genesis 21:8-10) This act from Sarah saddened Abraham and God reinforced him that both sons of his will have their own nation because they both share his blood and come from the same seed. Through these sons Isaac and Ishmael come forth two lineages. The Lineage of Ishmael and his mother Hagar are followed by Islam. The lineage of Isaacs's offspring are the followers of both
