Part 2:
The parotid salivary gland is located behind your mouth and between the ears. It 's main function is to secrete saliva to help with chewing and swallowing. It also starts the process of digestion by breaking down starches. I remember its location by using the word saliva, I always have saliva in my mouth.
The pharynx is located at the top of your throat. Its main function is push food to the esophagus and to make sure we do not swallow air all the time. I remember its location by associating it with the larynx which allows me to speak.
The esophagus is located in the front of your chest and goes from the pharynx to your stomach. Its main function is to push the food down to your stomach. I remember is by thinking of an elephant's trunk, a long tube and starts with an "e", why I remember it this way I think was from grammar school.
The liver is located on the right side of your body to the right of your stomach. The liver has many functions. It processes and removes toxins and breaks down proteins to help in digestion. I remember its location because when I was a kid, my brother and I would always give each other liver and kidney punches when fooling around.
The stomach is in the center of your body between the esophagus and small intestine. Its main function is to break down the food we digest my secreting enzymes and acids. I remember the location because I frequently place my hand over my stomach when I eat too much.
